on the island, a branch of the Agricultural Bank of Greece (Agrotiki
Trapeza) at Katapola, although Aegiali also has an ATM cash machine.
Please note that hotels, restaurants and shops will usually not accept
credit cards. |
Health: Aegiali's community clinic is only at a small
distance (30 m.) from Elichryson.
It operates on a drop-in basis. Close by is also a pharmacy. |
Water resources: Amorgos lacks natural water resources.
Potable water is therefore regularly brought by ship from other islands. |
Electricity: 220 V. Travellers from the UK, America,
Asia and Australia will need a European travel adaptor. |

zone: GMT +2 hours. Summer temperatures range from 20 to
35° C. |

booths in most villages around the island, phone cards for which can
be bought at the post office and other shops. |
Transport: Public transport from village to village
is frequent during the summer. Buses also operate from Katapola to
Aegiali (port to port) at every ship's arrival. There are only a few
taxis on the island, which require pre-booking. Cars and motorcycles
can alternatively be rent at both Aegiali and Katapola. |
Opening hours: Most shops stay open till late in
the summer (early morning hours), as are bars and restaurants. |
